What you’ll do:

  • Hunt: qualify and close new business opportunities
  • Document: help develop sales materials, document best practices, and maintain account records in the company CRM so that we can all learn from your success
  • Refine: work very closely with the company’s founders to relay client feedback to continuously improve our product, company, and sales strategy
  • Learn: develop and maintain your product and market expertise, and share that knowledge with your teammates

What you’ll need:

  • Minimum 5 years’ sales experience directly to the buyside
  • Consistent quota outperformance
  • Domain knowledge: equity research process and tools specifically, and familiarity with the buyside in general

  • Excellent communication skills: you must effectively cultivate & manage relationships with high-profile fund managers and junior analysts alike
  • Ability to think creatively, work independently, collaborate heavily across teams, and focus on opportunities for growth
  • Desire to work in an extremely fast-paced, high-growth, entrepreneurial start-up environment (and an appreciation for the trade-offs/constraints of working in said environment!)

What you’ll get:

  • Very competitive compensation structure – equity, salary, generous & uncapped commission plan, benefits, and three weeks paid vacation
  • An opportunity to make a direct impact on the growth and value of an exciting young company in the emerging equity research tech space
  • Work from home (or wherever you choose, in territory), plus regular visits to our head office, located in beautiful Vancouver, Canada

Please apply by e-mail to [email protected]; this role reports directly to the CEO.

.NET SOFTWARE ENGINEERING TEAM LEAD

We’re looking for a motivated software development lead to join our team and help grow our products towards our long-term vision. We’re transforming the way financial analysts spend their time and are working on problems in areas like data tracing and statistics, workflow and usability tools, and user experience design.

You have at least 7 years of experience in Windows desktop application development and are very comfortable with C# or a similar language. You know about—and are excited by—the challenges that come with being a team lead, developing and testing code in a Microsoft ecosystem, client-facing user interface design, and API integrations. Experience or interest in Microsoft Excel as an application platform is an added bonus. You should have some experience, or a strong desire to learn about, inspiring and guiding a technical development team.

We’re using C# and VBA for our internal and client-facing tools. Our systems are supported by a growing continuous integration system, and we increasingly rely on automated testing; if it’s not tested, it doesn’t work! We ship code many times every day.

Learning, growth, and personal and professional development are a priority in your life, and you spend some of your time focusing on the fields of computing science, software development, communication, and finance; you’ve spent years refining your skills and honing your craft. Committing to and becoming a supportive leader in a highly collaborative team is an exciting prospect.

We expect that you have ideas about what you’d like to work on now and in the future, and we’d love to work with you to get there. We’re motivated by mentorship on both sides of the table.

If this sounds like a team that you’d like to be a part of then please contact us—we’d love to hear from you! Send us a PDF of your resume and include your cover letter, with a little bit about why you want to work at Canalyst, in the body of an email to [email protected]
